About The Spot on Kirk:
The Spot on Kirk is an intimate music venue and gathering place on Kirk Avenue in Downtown Roanoke, Virginia that runs as a non-profit organization. A wide variety of local and national musicians take the stage to provide a live-music experience like nowhere else. You name it, you’ll hear it at The Spot: folk, blues, Americana, singer-songwriter, hip-hop, R&B, and even Zydeco.

With just enough room for 130 people and not a bad seat in the house, you’ll feel like you’re part of an exclusive performance. There’s no better place in Roanoke to get this up-close-and-personal to your favorite musicians.

When we aren’t hosting world class musicians, our stage serves many other purposes in the community. From educational experiences and networking opportunities, to charitable causes and focusing on cultural inclusion, The Spot is a space that is always working to make Roanoke a better place.

About Down by Downtown:
The Spot on Kirk first opened under the non-profit umbrella of Down by Downtown Music, Inc. With more than 30 live music performances at over a dozen venues throughout the city, Down By Downtown (DxDT) is an annual celebration of Roanoke’s growing music scene. Participating venues host live music April 14-16, many of which are free. DxDT was organized almost seven years ago as a part of Roanoke’s Creative Connectors Class. For the past several years DxDT has partnered with the Blue Ridge Marathon to provide live musical acts at the marathon finish line.
