High School Night with The Snapping Turtlenecks & Makawao

Come out for a sweet night of talented high school bands performing at The Spot on Kirk!

The Snapping Turtlenecks hail from Patrick Henry High School. They were formed in August 2017 by Toby Tate (lead guitar), Cade Clemons (bass), Jonah Mroz-Roakes (drums), Finn Mroz- Roakes (vocals), and later on adding Josh Smith (saxophone).  The Snapping Turtlenecks combine indie rock and "emo music" to create an angst-y yet danceable sound teens and adults alike can relate to.  They released their first record Grass Fed Kids in April of 2019, and are currently in the process of recording their sophomore albume, Little Red Balloon.

Makawao is a lighthearted alternative rock band from Salem High School. This group of friends all has separate musical ambitions and have decided to collaborate on original music to put their relationships to sound.
